BSF springs Manipur success story

Imphal, Nov. 30: The BSF, which has been in the forefront of counter-insurgency operations in Manipur, today said it had ?re-established? civil administration in Churachandpur and Bishenpur districts, where its troops are currently deployed.

The BSF was deployed in the state in 2000 primarily to counter insurgency in two districts following the withdrawal of army troops due to the Kargil conflict.

Initially, there were only six battalions, but two additional battalions were later deployed.

AGARTALA, July 15 ? The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd has found high quality gas reserves at Maicherra in Belonia subdivision. This will be first well in South Tripura district from where natural gas can be explored. The area comes under Uttarkholabaria gram panchayat. NSCN(K) to issue permit to Bangla migrants

KOHIMA, July 15 ? NSCN(K) will enforce its own regulations to check influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh to Nagaland, reports PTI.
