NE ultras procuring arms from UNLF

GUWAHATI, June 18 ? United National Liberation Front (UNLF), a militant group, operating from Myanmar has been providing arms and ammunition to several underground organisations of the North-east India, highly placed official sources disclosed today. The sources said that the security forces deployed along the Indo-Myanmar border for counter insurgency operations, confirmed that the militant outfit of late has provided a huge cache of arms and ammunition to the ULFA and the NDFB.

NEC preparing transport plan for North East

SHILLONG, June 20 ? The North Eastern Council (NEC) has commissioned the preparation of a perspective ?Transport Plan? for the development of north-eastern region. An amount of Rs 45.90 lakh has already been sanctioned in April last to a New Delhi consultancy firm M/s Consulting Engineer Services for the purpose.
