Investment in Assam: New policy to remove hurdles

GUWAHATI, June 6 ? The new Industrial Policy of the State Government for the year 2002 is expected to simplify and streamline the operational guidelines and procedures with a view to ensuring removal of hurdles faced by entrepreneurs and investment in setting up industries in the State, and also to take care of the introduction of Value-added Taxation (VAT) with effect from April 1, 2003.
