31.60 lakh hectares prone to floods in Assam

GUWAHATI, May 1 ? Assam accounts for 9.4 per cent of the total flood ? prone area of the country and every year, floods cause heavy damage to the economy of the State. House panel tells Centre: Fix oil royalty on basis of global prices

GUWAHATI, April 30 ? Regretting that Assam has not been getting its due share in forms of royalty on crude oil and natural gas, the all-party delegation of Assam Assembly led by Speaker Prithibi Majhi today submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Ram Naik at New Delhi demanding fixation of royalty on crude oil on the basis of international market price.
