LGB Airport all set for international flights

GUWAHATI, Feb 26 – The Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport is ready with all necessary technical facilities for operation of twice-weekly international flight to Bangkok from April 4. The Director General of Civil Aviation and senior officials of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security are scheduled to arrive here on February 28 for final inspection of the facilities in the airport.

Excise duty exemption to new industrial units in Assam

GUWAHATI, Feb 26 : Government of India through a notification dated February 12, 2002 granted excise Duty exemption to new industrial units in all industrially approved locations under Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and several other industrial areas in the State. The notification was issued as an amendment to the July 8, 1999 notification of the Finance Ministry granting excise duty exemption to industrial units located in notified industrial areas in he State.

Imphal, February 26: The Indian National Congress, the Federal Party of Manipur and the Samata Party have increased their tally by one each, with the declaration of election results for three more Assembly constituencies today.
