GUWAHATI, March 25 ? Borsola Beel, a major water body of the city, which had all the potentials to make Guwahati an excellent modern city, has now been reduced to a sewage reservoir. Communication network: Assam moves Centre to remove restrictions

Assam Govt mooted plans to add more land in reserved forests?

GUWAHATI, March 12 ? State Forest Minister GC Langthasa today informed the State Assembly that the Government has mooted a proposal to add 309135 hectares of additional land in the reserved forests. Replying to a question by Hitendra Nath Goswami (AGP), the Forest Minister said that at present 23.424 sq km area, that is 30.4 per cent of the total geographical area of the State, is under forest cover. Kathalguri power project marked 'excellent'

GUWAHATI, Feb 28 ? The Kathalguri gas based power project of the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) has become the first power station of the North-eastern region to be declared as the centre of excellence by the Government of India.
