No headway in HFC bifurcation issue

DIBRUGARH, February 22: The long pending issue of bifurcating the Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation (HFC) by establishing a separate corporate identity for its Namrup units continues to remain in a limbo, causing much consternation among workers of the Namrup units. Bill to make doctors serve in rural areas soon

GUWAHATI February 20: Health Minister Kamala Kalita today informed the State Assembly that the State Government was planning to enact a legislation making it compulsory for Government doctors to serve in rural areas. Govt action on faulty high-rise

GUWAHATI, February 19: Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta today asserted that construction of buildings in violation of the norms would not be tolerated and the Government has already instructed the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) that if necessary, such buildings should be demolished. SHILLONG, February 18 (UNI): At least 393 earthquakes measuring between two and seven on the Richter scale have rocked parts of Northeast, besides border areas of Bangladesh, Myanmar and Bhutan since 1980.
