DHD urges NE ultra outfits to come for talks

NEW DELHI, Dec 27?The Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) has appealed to all insurgent outfits of the North east to come forward for negotiations. DHD chief Joel Garlusa has also made an appeal to the Government of India to go for a political settlement of issues with militants through political dialogue.

The DHD, which has a ceasefire pact with the Centre, is planning to submit its list of political demands to the Government of India. The outfit is demanding a separate state of ?Dimaraji?.

Police take charge of Bhimkanta, 3 others

TEZPUR, Dec 27 ? Four ULFA members including the founder of the outfit Bhimkanta Buragohain were today handed over to the State police by the army authorities here. According to official sources the ULFA men besides Bhimkanta Buragohain (78) popularly known as Mama are Captain Dr Amarjit Gogoi, Bolin Das and the 66-year-old political advisor to Mama, Robin Handique.

Ultra ban on trading with Bhutanese

GUWAHATI, Dec 26 ? The ULFA, NDFB and KLO today imposed a ban on the trading with the Bhutanese individuals or firms by any individual or firm from Assam, Bodoland and Kamatapur. The ban will come into force with effect from midnight today. Police remand for ultra kin

NALBARI, Dec 26 ? The 64 ULFA kin who were handed over to the Indian authorities day before yesterday by the Bhutanese authorities, were remanded to 48-hour police custody by the Nlabari Chief Judicial Magistrate?s court All the kin were sent back to the Tamulpur 30-bedded Hospital, where they are lodged for interrogation by the security forces.
