DIBRUGARH, January 17: A well concealed camp of the Isak Muivah faction of the NSCN was busted near Shikobasti southwest of Miao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh by troops of the Second Mountain Division on January 16. Two cadres of the outfit, "Corporal" Thai Atom Tangkhul and "Private" Hokuto Sema, were apprehended in the operation carried out in the twilight hours that day. The seizures included a big consignment of incriminating documents, a Chinese grenade, a 9 mm carbine, a large quantity of rations, medicines, personal belongings, ammunition pouches and an Israeli army cap. The documents reveal a lot about the outfit's extortion drives in the Tirap and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh, said Brigadier VK Datta, who heads a crucial mountain brigade in upper Assam. He said that the camp had eight other cadres, including a female cadre, all of whom managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Intensive search operations in the area is continuing, according to the Brigadier.
