Fleeing non-local students stopped by police

IMPHAL, August 2: Altogether 96 students from Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh, who were studying at College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Iroishemba, abruptly fled the college early this morning without informing the authorities and tried to leave the state, but were stopped by the police. Students' body concerned over killing of 4 Manipuris in Tripura

IMPHAL, August 1: The Manipuris Students' Federation (MSF) has expressed serious concern over the killing of four Manipuris in ethnic clashes in Tripura recently. BISHNUPUR, July 28: Eleven personnel of the 112 Bn CRPF who are allegedly involved in the July 19 Lamdan CRPF atrocities have given their statements at the Bishnupur police station today. Dy CM heads panel on border incursion by Myanmar

IMPHAL, July 28: Deputy Chief Minister L Chandramani today assured the House that a new committee would be instituted to look into the alleged encroachment of the state's border by Myanmar. CRPF IG for DNA test on accused in Lamdan rape case

IMPHAL, July 27: The Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Manipur and Nagaland Range M Mohan Raj has suggested the Manipur Police to conduct a DNA test to find out the accused personnel involved in the Lamdan rape case. CRPF denies rape allegations

IMPHAL, July 27: The IG CRPF, Mohan Raj, said that no CRPF personnel ever approached the house of chief of Lamdan village in which the chief's daughter-in-law was alleged to have been raped by CRPF personnel on July 18 in the wake of an ambush on a CRPF patrol.
