NLFT kills 16

AGARTALA, Jan 13 — Militants of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) killed 16 persons and injured nine others at Singicherra Bazar under Khowai PS, West Tripura district around 6:15 pm this evening, police sources said. The militants surrounded the market and opened indiscriminate firing killing 12 persons on the spot and critically injuring 13 others. While two persons died on way to hospital, two others succumbed to their injuries at the GB hospital in Agartala.

Technical education in NE to be upgraded

GUWAHATI, Dec 12 – Technical education is to be upgraded and expanded in six North-eastern states-Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura besides Jammu & Kashmir and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, stated a PIB release. 28 observers for Manipur polls

IMPHAL, Jan 13—A total of 28 election observers are going to oversee the forthcoming 8th Assembly elections which is scheduled to be held on February 14 and 21.
