Governor takes over charge of KAADC

GUWAHATI, March 15: The Governor of Assam, Lt Gen (retd) SK Sinha today took over the power of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous District Council (KAADC), official sources said. The Governor has directed the Karbi Anglong deputy commissioner to hold the election of the chairman of the district council by March 19 and the other executive members within the next couple of days. Sources said that the Governor directed removal of the chairman, deputy chairman and the CEM of the Council following allegations of corruption against the executive committee headed by Mojari Hanse.

AASU-TSF to launch joint movement

Service perks suspended as part of austerity measures in Manipur

IMPHAL, March 15: With a view to curb extraneous expenditure, the government has initiated a number of austerity measures in the state with immediate effect.
