Rice production drive successful: Nagaland

KOHIMA, Jan 21 : The Nagaland government has claimed the implementation of its ambitious scheme for production of rice and maize in the state in 2001 was “successful” and additional areas have been brought under cultivation of the two major crops, reports PTI. KOHIMA, March 23: Nagaland Chief Minister SC Jamir today presented a Rs 203-crore deficit budget for the next fiscal with a commitment to carry on with the ongoing financial reform programme, reports PTI. Except for enhancing sales tax on petroleum products, the budget did not propose any fresh tax proposals.
