NCP to contest 42 Assembly seats in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, August 24: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to contest 42 of the total of 60 Assembly seats, besides both the two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh. Releasing the first list of 11 candidates for the state Assembly and one Lok Sabha seat here, the NCP state president, Talar Doye, said the new national political party was committed to fighting against "corruption and criminalisation of politics" in the state. Congress finalises Arunachal LS seats

ITANAGAR, August 16: The ruling Congress in Arunachal Pradesh has finalised the list of candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state going to the polls on October 3. According to party sources, Wangsha Rajkumar, member of the dissolved Lok Sabha, is likely to be the candidate for the Arunachal Pradesh East seat, while advocate Jorbam Gambling will contest from the Arunachal Pradesh West seat. Arunachal assembly dissolved

ITANAGAR, July 27: The Arunachal Pradesh Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) SK Sinha on Tuesday dissolved the state Assembly on the recommendation of the Cabinet.
