Rights panel takes up priests' attack cases

IMPHAL, February 9: The Manipur Human Rights Commission has taken up a suo motu case in connection with the attack on Father Tommy Manjali at the Canchipur Catholic School, on February 2 by unidentified persons. The commission issued notices to the Principal Secretary, Home and DGP, seeking reports of the incident and progress of the investigations. The reports should be submitted before February 26 and the next day is fixed for further orders.
