Mizoram House adjourned

AIZAWL, January 18: Close on the heels of the Opposition walk-out on Wednesday night, the Speaker had to adjourn the House for two hours on Thursday following a pandemonium created by the Opposition benches, report agencies. Trouble started soon after the Question Hour when leader of the Opposition and Mizo People's Conference (MPC) president Lalhmingthanga's demand that his adjournment motion be admitted, was rejected by the Speaker, Lalawa. Rs 200 cr to modernise State police

GUWAHATI, January 18: The Government of India has decided to provide Rs 200 crore during the next five years for modernisation of the State police in response to a comprehensive proposal submitted by the State police.
