IMPHAL, June 21– Even as the army authority deployed in the State has denied to disclose their activities in flushing out of the Manipur-based insurgents along the Indo-Myanmar border, a high-level meeting of Indian and Myanmarese armies was held at Army headquarter at Rangapahar in Dimapur (Nagaland).

DIBRUGARH, June 21 – Claiming that the recent flush-out operations against militants in Bhutan was a major successful venture of the Bhutanese Army, the GOC of the Tezpur-based Four Corps, Lt Gen AS Jamwal on Monday stressed on improved relations with the masses of efficient information gathering. Govt yet to start BTC poll process

GUWAHATI, June 21– The Government of Assam is yet to start the process of holding the polls to the Bodoland Autonomous Council (BTC). As per the accord signed between the Central and State Governments and the Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT), the election should have been held within six months from the day the interim council assumes office and already the stipulated time frame is over and it is not known when the polls to the Council will be held.

3 elephants run over by train

AZARA, June 21 – In a tragic incident, three wild elephants were run over by a train near Rani last night on the Kamakhya-Jogighopa route. Talking to The Assam Tribune, Jahur Ali, Range Officer of the Rani Forest Range said that a herd of about twenty wild elephants had come down from Chakradow hill last night. The elephants were searching for food by the side of the railway track near Chakradow-Mikirpara under Rani Forest Range.

New Delhi, June 20: Mizoram’s historical Aizawl Club will soon give way to a prototype of Delhi’s glitzy India Habitat Centre, which is the hub of socio-cultural activities in the capital. The building, estimated to cost Rs 12.37 crore, is being constructed by the state-owned National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCCL) with finance from the Union urban development ministry.
