ABSU to keep close watch on functioning of BTC

GUWAHATI, Dec 11: Though the All Bodo Students? Union (ABSU) is not directly involved with the functioning of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), it would keep a close watch on the activities of the Council to ensure all round development of the area, said the ABSU president Rabiram Narzary. Uranium mining to begin soon

New Delhi, Dec. 10: The Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL) has decided, in principle, to start uranium mining in the Domiasiat area of Meghalaya. Pre-project activities like preparation of environment impact assessment, environment management plan report and a project report have been initiated and application for mining lease has been submitted to the state government.

Imphal, December 10: A new political party, named Humanist Party of India, New Manipur State Council has been formed during a meeting held at Sangeet Natya Mahavidyalaya, Takhellambam Leikai today.
