Militant outfit National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) received a major blow as nine of its members were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Mahamaya Reserve Forest in Dhubri district in the early hours today. Imphal, May 27: Militants struck in a big way killing at least 11 Assam Rifles personnel and decamping with a large number of arms and ammunition including 4 AK rifles and one 2 inch mortar at Leplian Kuki village around 19 kms north-east of Saikul police station at around 10 this morning. MSCP merger put on hold

Imphal, May 26: The proposed merger of the MSCP to the Congress seems to have been shelved for the moment with the Congress leaders returning to Imphal today without finalizing the issue with the AICC.
