Few Assamese books get their entries in National Bibliography

GUWAHATI, April 18 ? Only a number of Assamese books can be covered by the National Bibliography, compiled, edited and published by the Central Reference Library, Kolkata, since 1958. The Bibliography has the records of the books published in 15 Indian languages, including English. Other than Assamese, books published in NE languages could not be listed by the Central Reference Library (CRL) in the Bibliography. Major bureaucratic reshuffle in Assam

GUWAHATI, April 22: The State Government today effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and shifted persons holding key posts of Additional Chief Secretary, Home Commissioner and Finance Commissioner. Centre tells Supreme Court: IMDT Act hampering aliens deportation

NEW DELHI, April 22? While supporting repeal of the IMDT Act, the Central Government has ruled out extension of the controversial Act to any other States pointing out that it has hampered the process of detection and deportation of illegal migrants. Centre clears NE projects within 15 days: Shourie

DIBRUGARH, April 21? Union Minister for Disinvestment and Department of North-east Region Arun Shourie today said that all schemes and projects submitted by the north-eastern States are cleared within 15 days, reports PTI.
