Manipur initiates steps to tackle disaster

IMPHAL, April 3: As a first precautionary step towards disaster management and to be on the alert in the event of any natural disaster, the state government has constituted a 12 member Committee to take stock of the quality of the existing buildings in the context of safety measures against natural calamities. NRL wipes out LPG, kerosene deficit from NE

GUWAHATI, April 3: The Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), starting its commercial production from October 1, 2000, has already wiped out the deficit in LPG and kerosene (SKO) from the Northeastern region. There was a monthly deficit of 5 TMT LPG and 10 TMT SKO in the Northeast till the commissioning of Numaligarh refinery. Ultras force closure of 3 schools in Manipur

IMPHAL, April 3: Unidentified militants have forced closure of three schools here for allegedly not paying ransom money, official sources said today, reports PTI. CRPF rescues hostages in Tripura

AGARTALA, April 3: In a daring operation, CRPF jawans of the 34th battalion based at Lalcherra camp under Chhawmanu police station of Dhalai district rescued three persons abducted on March 18.
