Manipur ultras reject ceasefire offer

IMPHAL, March 1: The banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) today rejected the Radhabinod Koijam Government's ceasefire offer to all 17 insurgent outfits and suspension of counter-insurgency operations against them by the army in the State, reports PTI. The PREPAK in a statement here said, the government's offer was 'a trick' to all underground groups and underground cadres 'into lowering their guard.' Incidence of juvenile delinquency on the rise in Assam

GUWAHATI, March 1: Incidents of juvenile delinquency is on the rise in the State with average rate of increase being put at 8.32 per cent every year since 1993. It was found following a study conducted by three teachers of LC Bharali College in the city. Pox and pneumonia claim 20 lives in Nagaland district

KOHIMA, March 1: The communicable diseases that claimed lives of at least 20 children at a border village in Nagaland's remote district had been brought under control, the district administration and Assam Rifles said, reports PTI.
