Rally in protest over dam construction

IMPHAL, Jan 23 ? A huge rally across Tamenglong district of Manipur would be taken out tomorrow to protest against the proposed construction of multi-crore Tipaimukh dam at the trijunction of Manipur, Mizoram and Assam, Committee Against Tipaimukh Dam (CATD) said today, reports PTI.

Steps on to divert phumdis to Manipur River

Imphal, January 22: To remove the phumdis which have got a strangle hold on Loktak lake; plans are afoot to divert the phumdis to Manipur river through a canal to be constructed at Tera Khunou Khong Ahanbi in Mayang Imphal Assembly constituency. Resistance hurdle for Tipaimukh

Imphal, Jan. 12: At a time when it appeared that all hurdles in the way of the Tipaimukh project had been cleared, a group persistently opposing the power project is now preparing a resistance movement against the dam.
