GUWAHATI, April 6: The minority organisations of the State will meet in a crucial meeting at the National Education Foundation, Bora Service here tomorrow to chalk out their action plan in relation to the coming Assembly election in the State. Karbi Langpi power project may finally take off

AMTERENG, April 5: The much-delayed Karbi Langpi Hydro Electric Project (KLHEP) of the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) at Hatidubi here on the lower Borpani river, about 120 kilometre away from Guwahati, seems to be moving towards completion after more than two decades when work began on the project with a Rs 125 crore loan from the Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL). NEC sanctions Rs 17.02 crore for development schemes

SHILLONG, April 5: The North Eastern Council (NEC) has sanctioned an amount or Rs 6 crore to the Border Road Development Board for construction or 'inter-state' roads and other roads of 'economic importance' in the north eastern region. The amount is part of a Rs 17.02 crore scheme, sanctioned during March, the NEC said in a press release. The NEC has also accorded administrative approval to schemes amounting to Rs 20.74 crore.
