Centre blames State for Pagladiya project delay

Faced with unflattering strictures, Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) has laid the blame for delay in execution of the multi-purpose Pagladiya Dam Project at Assam Government?s doorstep, even as it was directed to work out a time-schedule and ensure strict monitoring of the project implementation.

Arunachal power plan awaits Centre?s nod

Itanagar, Jan. 18: The power department has submitted a Rs 171-crore project to the Centre for the augmentation of the state?s power system and reduction in transmission cost. Arunachal power minister Lijum Royna said the project has already been sent to New Delhi for approval.

A 132 kV-project for Rs 53.17 crore, to take power from Ziro to Along via Daporijo, was targeted for completion by December this year. Royna said Rs 13 crore remained to be received from the department of development of northeastern region (Doner), which was financing the project.

NE States owe Rs 100 cr to NHPC for Loktak hydel project

Power crisis in N-E could end forever

Shillong, May 21: The Northeast will witness a power revolution as a number of foreign banks have agreed to fund major power projects in the region.
