Naga Integration Bill reintroduced in Assembly

KOHIMA, Dec 17 ? Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has re-introduced the Naga Integration Bill in the Nagaland Assembly Session Tuesday for resolution. The Naga Integration Bill had been passed thrice by this same Assembly in the past. And the current one, if passed, will be the fourth one.

Resolution to bring Naga areas together

Kohima, Dec. 16: The Nagaland government today introduced a resolution in the Assembly on integration of Naga areas contiguous to the state. The timing of the resolution is significant. The resolution, tabled by chief minister Neiphiu Rio, iterated ?its earlier stand and urged the Centre to bring together the Naga people living in the state of Nagaland and the contiguous areas by integrating them under one administrative unit?.

Three resolutions were pas-sed by the Assembly earlier, too, on December 12, 1964, August 28, 1970 and September 16, 1994.

Manipur pays tribute to women martyrs

Imphal, Dec. 12: Manipur today paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of nupi lal (women?s war), with the state government calling on women?s organisations to continue the struggle. Imphal, December 10: A new political party, named Humanist Party of India, New Manipur State Council has been formed during a meeting held at Sangeet Natya Mahavidyalaya, Takhellambam Leikai today. The Humanist Party of India is a registered political party and has its base at Mumbai. The meeting attended by around 50 persons was presided by retired IAS officer Ch Ibohal. Nagas have consensus on unification: Rio

GUWAHATI, Dec 10 ? Imphal, December 04: The Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup in a press statement today contradicted the UNLF's statement issued in the local dailies on December 2.
