SC spanner in Naga poll booths

New Delhi, Dec. 16: The Supreme Court today rejected an application by the Election Commission seeking additional polling booths for the 2003 Nagaland Assembly elections in areas disputed by Assam.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice G.B. Pattanaik and Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, directed that polling stations put up in areas for the 1991 Assembly elections should only be re-established for the coming polls.

Delimitation of Nagaland constituencies: Commission suggests deferment

KOHIMA, Dec 1: Members of the Delimitation Commission of Nagaland have suggested that the proposed readjustment of constituencies boundaries be taken up only after the February Assembly polls as most of the intending candidates along with their supporters have already begun their compaign, reports PTI. NSCN(K) to issue permit to Bangla migrants

KOHIMA, July 15 ? NSCN(K) will enforce its own regulations to check influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh to Nagaland, reports PTI.
